Milk and honey is a testimonial to food. It is the story of my deepest gratitude to the plants and animals that have nourished my body and soul and taught me the difference between eating to live and living to eat.  This is an exploration into the way my life has changed for the better from the nourishment I received once I realized the difference between calories and food.
And so I created this site. With this blog I hope to encourage, inspire and cheer you all up with news and information on food, nutrition, yoga and wellness tips. The content of this site is intended to offer a bridge between western nutrition, holistic and alternative health with a focus on cooking and nourishing your body and your family. Over this past year, my husband and I have been on the most exciting culinary excursion of our lives. From living in Williamsburg, Brooklyn-which has seen a culinary explosion over the past few years, to traveling to exciting places, exploring in our own kitchen, joining our local CSA, gardening, cheese making and so much more that I hope to share with you. It will be an adventure, for sure. In the pages that follow, I hope that you too will find that inner teacher and starving artist within you and get crazy in the kitchen. Go ahead, I challenge you!
The strength in numbers theory
Within this website I offer you a social network to communicate with others about your experiences with food- the good, the bad and the ugly. You will be able to share your successes and challenges on all food related topics and in return you will receive support and recognition from others. I believe that creating a community support system can only make us stronger, healthier and it will of course be much more fun if we do this together because, after all, what is less fun with more people?
I have learned along the way that feeding yourself and eating well is an act of self love that can have profound implications on your mental, spiritual and physical being. There is no more important foundation to sustain and nourish you. If you choose to fill up on foods that are devoid of the life-force that nature intended, your body will react accordingly. Natural, whole, unprocessed foods have the natural ability to heal us.
Here are a few things I have learned…
- Once you understand the nutritional benefits of a food, the more healing it will be for you and the more delicious it tastes (this may explain my love/obsession for kale, with all of its bitterness and quirks- I can’t get enough of it)
- Physical activity should be fun (not a chore) and include more people and as much nature as possible- it’s amazing how much more you can endure this way.
- Feeding your children and teaching them at a young age may seem futile but trust me, eventually your efforts will pay off (and those smart little ones are learning more from the exposure to good-for-you foods than they show you, just be patient).
- You will never be sorry if you learn to cook.
- There is no obstacle large enough to interfere with eating healthy foods. It is your choice, no more excuses!
- The more whole, unprocessed, full-fat foods you choose, the better your body will respond and the less you will need to consume.
Why Milk & Honey?
Milk & Honey is the name that I chose for my blog. This stems from the old saying that my beautiful grandmother used to say to my family: caminos de leche y miel, meaning may your journey be safe and sweet. My grandmother instilled these words into us in such a way that now my entire extended family, as well as close friends, cannot travel anywhere without saying this to one another. Her intentions with this saying were more as good luck and be careful and I love you than anything else but these words and her life has had a major impact on who I am today. She cooked and fed her family and friends with so much love repeatedly, and that was translated to my mother, who is my teacher and does the same with everyone in her life today, and that was passed on from my mother to me. This is where my love of food and my desire to feed family and friends has grown from.
And so my journey with this blog/site begins and my admiration for food continues to grow daily. The more I learn about foods, where they come from and how to prepare them, the more I want to know and the happier I become. So please join me on this ever so exciting journey of leche y miel…

There are some benefits of a good life. But can drugs help us? Internet is an ideal method to buy drugs. There isn’t anything you can’t get online anymore. Some drugs are used to prevent bronchitis in people with weak immune systems caused by bone marrow transplant. Sure, the nomenclature is quite large. If you’re concerned about sexual dysfunction, you perhaps already know about cialis price cvs. What about sexual existence and cialis price comparison? Erectile dysfunction is perchance men’s most common sexual disfunction. Positively, sexual diseases can soothe chronic pain and can affect the quality of life. Many varied diseases can affect the nerves that will lead to impotency. There are risks possible with any type of therapy. And the pills are as a rule considered safe enough. Potentially serious side effects can include so-called blue vision, but it is ordinarily mild. Certainly, the most deciding element that is considered while buying medicaments from the Web is to make a right choice.
