Cross-country skiing: lost in the 70’s or back with a vengeance?

Did you think that cross-country skiing was a lost sport? I sure did, well at least until this past weekend.  Brandon and I have recently made a commitment to get at least one day of outdoor physical activity per week this winter. This week it was xc-skiing at Fahnestock State Park and wow were we in for a big surprise. I had no idea this was such a popular sport. So much so that the line was approximately 30 cars long and they even sold out of skis!
