
Kefir, as opposed to yogurt, is a fermented milk drink, the origins of which date back to when the Turkish shepherds migrated carrying pouches of milk that would eventually foam into an effervescent beverage. It is prepared by inoculating cow, goat or sheep’s milk with kefir grains. These grains resemble something of which we might consider to resemble cauliflower.
