2020 The Year of You

Happy New Year

Here's to a happy and healthy new decade!

Have you already set your resolution to lose weight, eat healthy and get to they gym? For many, new year's resolutions can be stressful and full of mixed emotions.

I personally feel as though they can be initially motivating and later leave us feeling deflated and down on ourselves. So, this year, I'm proposing a new approach!

Let's focus more on self-care, slowing down and taking small steps towards sparking self-growth. Try simple steps such as adopting a daily motto and focusing on counting your wins, not your losses. Read on for more tips.

Here are 3 simple steps to starting the new decade off right:

  • Daily motto to inspire yourself: This little, yet powerful, statement can really focus your mindset on something positive and you might just be surprised at how much of an impact it will make. Here's an example- "today is a new day, what can I do better than yesterday."

  • Listen to your body: Try not to set unrealistic workout goals, instead, do little things each day that make you feel good, such as, walk for an extra 20 minutes, take the stair when possible, stretch in the morning, get a massage, visit the acupuncturist or chiropractor.

  • Do less: Try to resist the urge to fill your day. Instead, try watching less TV, reading more, daydreaming, taking naps, sleeping longer, flipping through magazines or cookbooks that inspire you.
